In her new book, Lynne Farrow outlines her research on Iodine and the many testimonials of people helped by taking this essential nutrient.  She describes how she went from cold hands, dry skin, overweight and fatigued with brain fog to vibrant and healthy after supplementing her diet with iodine (NOT  tincture of iodine which is poison). Kelp is a natural ingredient whose main component is iodine. Iodine is a key element in the production of T3 and T4 thyroid hormones which increases energy levels and boosts metabolism. Iodine is an element needed for the production of thyroid hormones. Because the body does not produce iodine on its own, it can only be obtained through diet or supplements. Lynn describes how iodized salt is not a good source of iodine as only about 10% of it is available to the body.  According to Lynne’s book, people that do not have any reactions taking iodized salt should not have a problem with iodine as it is does not have the same allergic component as shellfish. Iodine is a key component of Thyromin, a supplement from Young Living designed to support the thyroid gland.  It contains bovine glandular, herbs, minerals and essential oils.  Multi-greens might be a better choice for someone with normal thyroid levels. It also contains kelp.
Fluoride has been used to treat hyperactive thyroid so it’s use should be avoided. (1)  We are drinking fluoride in the water and brushing our teeth with it.  I don’t drink tap water or brush with fluoride toothpaste.  My favorite toothpaste is fluoride free, Thieves Denarome Ultra.
Low thyroid function in dogs has been linked to seizures. A lady in our area added Thyromin to her dog’s food and she said the seizures stopped! She was thrilled.  Much better for the puppy than phenobarbital.  For full details on Thyromin:
