Acne information from EODR and Connie Higley’s book


Several people have asked for help for their loved ones suffering from Acne.  Here is what I found:

Essential Desk Reference guide suggestions:

Acne results from excess accumulation of dirt and sebum produced in the follicles and pores of the skin. As the pores become congested, bacteria feed on the sebum. Acne vulgaris (adolescents) due to hormone imbalances that stimulate oil production. Acne can be caused by this or poor diet, and use of chemicals in cleaning products, soaps, lotions, etc.   Stress can play a role.

Essential oils are outstanding for treatment of acne because of their ability to dissolve sebum, kill bacteria and preserve the acid mantle of the skin.

Recommendations:  Geranium, Vetiver, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Lavender, German or Roman Chamomile, Cedarwood, E. Radiata, Niaouli

Blends: Melrose, Purification, Harmony , Essential Beauty Serum – Acne prone for spot treatments

Supplements:  Mineral essence, Detoxzyme, Multigreens, ICP, Comfortone, Essentialzyme, Ningxia red dried wolf berries, Omegagize, Digest & Cleanse

Massage oils, creams, soap- ART foaming cleanser, ART toner, Boswellia wrinkle cream, Satin facial scrub mint, Melaleuca-Geranium bar soap, Prenolone plus body cream , Essential beauty serum.

Acne:   Bergamot, Cedarwood, Chamomile, Clary sage, Eucalyptus, Juniper, Lavender, Lemon, Marjoram, Tea tree, Patchouli, Rosemary, Rosewood, Sage.  Apply one of these oils directly on location. (Avoid the sun after using Bergamot as it can cause sun sensitivity).
